Magnetic Nails

24 Oct

Today I’ve tried a nail polish from Deborah‘s new Fall collection. It’s a very particular one, from the Shine Tech Magnetic line.

As you can see, along with the nail polish you get a magnet, which is the peculiarity of this line. The polish contains iron particles that, attracted by the magnet, will make a very fancy stripe effect on your nails. Here’s how it works:

Start by applying a thick coat of nail polish, then quickly place the magnet close to the nail for 15-20 seconds.

Do the same for all your nails. It takes a while, but the final effect is worth the effort!

I’ve painted a nail without using the magnet, to show you the difference. Even if the color is very nice, the stripes effect is quite better!

Do you like it? I love it!

Newspaper Nails

5 Sep

Last night my friend Cristina and I decided to do our nails with fancy designs. With terrible results. So we checked YouTube for some inspiring tutorials we hoped could make us professional by only watching.

Again, terrible results.

Then, we found this one:

This newspaper technique looks really fancy but it’s incredibly easy to do. (YAY!) Another pro is that you can easily do it by yourself without having to ask for help for your right hand.

Here’s the result on my nails. Pretty isn’t it?

I chose to do the base a bit darker. I used Kiko nail polish  319.

Have a look to all other tutorials by Cute Polish, they are really original and well described and let me know which one you’ve tried.

My Favorite Beauty Products

10 Aug

Today I want to share my beauty routine. I’m quite lazy, so I don’t spend much time on it. But some of the products I use are really good so… let’s just spread the voice!

Bottega Verde’s Scrub Mask with Musk Rose oil and Rose-hips.

It smells good and is very delicate and suitable for sensitive skins.

I use it for the face and neckline and I must admit that it leaves the skin really smooth.

Bottega Verde is an Italian company which produces natural cosmetics.

Unfortunately the online store only ships to Italy.

 Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse

This oil spray is just wonderful! You can use it on your face, body and hair.

It dries in a sec and doesn’t stain the clothes.

I mix it with the Nivea cream to moisturize my legs and, alone, it has replaced my night cream.

The plus: smells like paradise!

You can buy it in pharmacies here in France where I discovered it’s a must.

KIKO’s 3 Phase Vitamin Oil

This nourishing oil really works!

My nails used to break all the time, and now that I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks they improved a lot.

This is a oil, you can’t apply it as a base for the regular nail polish.

It takes a really long time to dry out (don’t even know if it dries completely) after a while I just clean it up with a tissue.

KIKO’s No Transfer Foundation SPF 20

The label says: no transfer extra long lasting foundation with anti-age dna repairing complex, moisturizing and lightening effect.

Well, I don’t know about anti-age and dna repairing but I can tell you that this foundation is really moisturizing!

At the beginning it may seem at little bit greasy but after a couple of minutes the greasy sensation goes away and the skin is just soft and silky.

The plus: SPF 20 perfect for summer!

 KIKO’s Automatic Waterproof Eyeliner

Great eyeliner shaped as a pen and with a hard point that makes it really easy to apply.

I always forget to shake it, so sometimes the color is a bit weak.

The plus: doesn’t smudge.

  Estée Lauder’s Pure Color Eyeshadow

Love the color, love the texture, love the packaging!

I usually apply it with my fingertips, but the brush is really good! Is just that… I don’t know how to shade so I haven’t used it that much.

KIKO’s Luxurious Lashes Mascara

Love mascaras with big brushes and this is one of them!

It is very easy to apply, even to lower lashes and it doesn’t smudge.

Well, I haven’t tried it on very sad occasions.

Estée Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick

I am not very much the lipstick type cause it usually makes me look really old, but this Bois De Rose is just perfect for my skin tone!

If you have olive complexion too you should try it!

  Estée Lauder Tender Lip Balm

Sorry for the picture, the label is barely readable, but that’s because this gloss is always in my purse.

It is in fact a lip balm and leaves your lips really silky, but it is also glossy, colored and glittered!

It is just perfect for the summer and it can replace the lipstick.

The plus: SPF 15

Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Toilette

Last but not least THE perfume.

I’ve been addicted to Coco Mademoiselle for a long time now, I think it’s so pleasant and you can never get tired of it.

This is the pocket -purse- version.

The plus: the rechargeable 20 ml package (you get 3) and you can take with you wherever you go!
